A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple charges after tying up a 3-year-old with duct tape and stuffing tissues in his mouth as punishment for acting up. James Franklin Miller, 32, of Enola was arraigned Monday for aggravated assault on a victim less than six-years-old, recklessly endangering another person, unlawful restraint of a minor, false imprisonment of a minor, endangering the welfare of children and simple assault. The boy was the grandson of a woman Miller had been in a relationship with.
The woman says that on the night of October 1, she and her young grandson spent the night at Miller’s apartment. The following day Miller told her he bound the child’s hands and feet with the thick, sticky adhesive tape after he had “acted up.” One of Miller’s children said he freed the boy when he found him tied up on the couch, after Miller went to bed.
The woman immediately left Miller’s house. When she asked her grandson about it, he confirmed he had been tied up and said that Miller also stuffed his mouth with tissues to muffle the boy’s cries. Miller began texting the woman, asking her to forgive him, which she then passed on to investigators who eventually arrested him. Miller was arraigned Monday and was released on $10,000 bail. He is due back in court on December 5.
