An former Arkansas high school art teacher was arrested after she allegedly had sexual relationships with four of her students, including one under the age of 18, Arkansas Online reported.
However, Jessie Lorene Goline, 25, was only charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault after her arrest on Wednesday, because three of the students were 18 or older.
Goline believed that the fourth student was over 18, she allegedly claimed to police, but then found out he was “way younger than what he had told her.”
She reportedly admitted to the sexual relationships with her students when police questioned her. All four of the relationships occurred within just four months in 2016, between January and April.
Goline even allegedly had sex with two of the students on the same day, police claimed.
The students all said that their relationships began over text messages, the contents of which became increasingly sexual.
One relationship allegedly began after Goline told a student “how good he looked in class” and sent a photo of herself in a thong.
In April, a parent threatened to “do bodily harm” to Goline after accusing her of having sex with students, police said. School officials reported the accusations to a hotline while Goline went into the administrative office and began crying.
According to KAIT-8, the school principal asked what was wrong. Goline allegedly replied, “I’m not going to lose my husband.”
She then reportedly told the principal “we had sex” when he asked if she had done anything inappropriate with a student.
If Goline is convicted of the felony, she could face up to life in prison.
