Between its mediocre pizza and pesky hosts made up like giant rodents, many parents already bemoan the living Hell that is a trip with the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Maybe that frustration is what made a mob of moms and dads engage in a bareknuckle brawl Saturday night at an outpost of the children's restaurant chain in Florida. Video footage of the rumble posted to Twitter shows parents pushing, punching and pulling each other’s hair in the knock-down, drag-out melee, which witnesses say lasted for almost 10 minutes before cops could get things under control.
Shot by Miami local Krystel Jimenez, the video has gone viral and been retweeted almost 2,000 times. Jimenez told The Miami Herald, one of the participants told her the fight began “because one person was looking at them and instigating a problem then they went up to them and their families got involved.” A spokesman for Chuck E. Cheese’s, whose trademarked motto is “Where A Kid Can Be A Kid,” issued a statement issued Monday, saying “an argument between two guests escalated into a physical altercation. The store manager acted quickly and local police were contacted and arrived immediately.” They added, “We want to assure our guests that we take great measures to protect the experience children and families have in our stores, and we do not tolerate this kind of behavior.”
