A North Carolina woman allegedly tossed kittens from her moving car on Wednesday.

According to a North Carolina NBC affiliate WITN, New Bern residents said they saw a driver tossing kittens from her moving car.

Chris and Lacey Orris stated they saw a woman throw two kittens out of her car window and run them over. The couple followed the driver to a stop light so they could jot down the license plate number and called police.

New Bern Police told WITN they have made contact with the driver. An animal control officer has been brought in to help investigate. At this time the woman's name has not been released and it is unknown if any charges have been filed.

The Orris' said police found three cats. Only one of the kittens was still alive (pictured.)

According to an ABC affiliate, four kittens were thrown from the car in total.
