A Florida couple who overdosed on drugs in the front seat of their SUV had two infants in the backseat, reports CBS Tampa affiliate WTSP-TV. The car was found in the parking lot of a Sarasota gas station. The car’s motor was still running and an assortment of drug paraphernalia was found inside the car.
Witnesses noticed the passed out couple on the morning of January 19, and called it in to 911. When Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived, they found William Ballard, 36, and Delaney Crissinger, 32, passed out, the latter still clutching a clear baggy of crystal methamphetamine. A loaded syringe sat on the vehicle's floorboard next to a container of baby formula. In the backseat were the two infants, ages 5 and 18 months.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with child neglect and possession of methamphetamine. Ballard is being held on $30,120 bond and was also charged with possession of heroin and driving with a suspended license. On top of her other charges, Crissinger was charged with possession of narcotics equipment and is being held on $17,000 bond. According to Fox 13 Tampa Bay, the children were taken into state custody and are now in the care of family.
