Rapper Chief Keef, 21, was detained in Miami on Saturday after police found Purple Drank in his car, People magazine reported.
Police took notice of Chief Keef’s car after a passenger, Cortez McElrath, allegedly got out of the rapper’s green McLaren at a red light and gave a passenger behind him a bag containing what appeared to be marijuana, according to police reports.
McElrath reportedly noticed the cops and ran back into Chief Keef’s car. Police put McElrath in handcuffs and held Chief Keef at Tazer-point until they could conduct a search of both cars. Police allegedly discovered marijuana in the car behind them and Sizzurp in possession of the Chicago rapper, whose birth name is Keith Cozart.
Sizzurp—also known as Lean or Purple Drank, is a mixture of prescription cough syrup containing codeine and soda, sometimes with a jolly rancher thrown in for maximum “fun.”
Cozart had “bloodshot watery droopy eyes and mush mouth,” according to the rather poetic police report.
The rapper has since been charged with a DUI for the incident, according to The Miami Herald.
