An experienced sky diver committed suicide by jumping from a plan and leaving his wife his final message. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Capotorto Vitantonio jumped on Tuesday after sending his wife a cryptic cellphone video saying, he was “not going to pull the cord and that he was going somewhere wonderful."

The wife (pictured below) ran to the Skydive Deland building in Deland, Florida and tried to stop her husband. An employee immediately radioed the plane but learned that the 27-year-old had already jumped.

Police came to the scene and found Vitantonio found him face down in an open field near the runway. As the Washington Post shared, authorities initially thought the incident was a skydiving accident. Following the investigation, they learned it was a suicide.

Vitantonio was a licensed skydiver. His wife said that he appeared normal prior to jumping.
