A teacher in Rocky Mount, North Carolina has been charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with three male students. 25-year-old Erin Elizabeth McAuliffe taught math at Rocky Mount Preparatory School.
According to WNCN, authorities were notified on May 5 by the school's administration about the alleged sexual relationships.
Police started speaking to students and faculty about allegations that the teacher had inappropriate contact with two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old.
“We have been fully cooperative with local law enforcement during the course of their handling of this matter,” Rocky Mount Preparatory said in a statement.
McAuliffe's last day was May 4. She was served on June 8 with charges of three counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of indecent liberties with a minor. She has posted bond and is slated to appear in court today.
WRAL adds that the alleged contact happened off-campus.
