The guy who vandalized Kim Kardashian's books said he did it for the children. Yesterday, we reported that 74-year-old Carl Puia was booked for pouring red ink all over the reality star's books at a Barnes & Noble in Connecticut. He now explains to TMZ that it was simply to shield kids from smut.
Puia says he saw a mother grab a copy of the steamy selfie book away from her young son. Puia claims that he told an employee at the store to remove the books from being at eye-level and too near the children's section but nobody did. That's when he took matters into his own hands.
Puia tells TMZ that he isn't anyone's morality authority but he believes kids shouldn't be exposed to what he deems smutty content. NBC Connecticut shared that Puia is scheduled back in court on March 22 for criminal mischief in the third degree.
