An Uber driver in Moraga, California is accused of sexually battering a female passenger in the back of his car.

According to KRON4, 42-year-old Leonid Beker is accused of giving a woman a ride on May 26. He stopped before reaching the destination around 1:03am. Police say Beker then got into the backseat and sexually battered the passenger.

Authorities say the passenger had the presence of mind to distract Beker and make him stop and then was taken to her destination and dropped off.

Beker was identified from the victim and traffic cameras in Moraga. He was arrested and booked into Contra Costa County Jail on Thursday on suspicion of felony sexual battery. After posting bail, he was released.

Uber called the incident "deeply troubling" and said that Beker is no longer driving for the ridesharing app.
