Sony Music boss L.A. Reid left his position at Epic Records last week. Now, new allegations are surfacing about sexual harassment charges against the music industry veteran. According to the NY Post, a female coworker is alleging that the 60-year-old harassed her on several instances.
A source tells the publication that the woman's attorney has outlined the harassment in a letter to Sony's General Counsel. The employee is a female assistant who says Reid made inappropriate physical advances toward her at the company's holiday party in December. She also says that Reid asked her to lie in bed with him and give him a hug while they were at a hotel for business. The married executive apparently passed comments on what clothes he liked her to wear and described her as “fine.”
Sony Music would not comment on the accusations to the Post but did confirm the exec was exiting: "L.A. Reid will be leaving the company." Reid's lawyer did not comment to the publication as of Sunday.
It's unclear if these allegations have anything to do with Reid's exit from the label, which he has headed for six years.
Billboard sources confirm that a female employee has made allegations of harassment. Those sources go on to say that it was the allegations that prompted Sony to investigate Reid's conduct.
