Fast and the Furious ain't got nothin' on real life: recent video of a truck going airborne during a police chase is now going viral.
According to CW33, driver Dekorey Austin took to the skies as he fled from Louisiana state officers after being pulled over for speeding.
“Pulled the individual over. One individual got out and came toward the officer. As he came toward the officer, the vehicle sped away,” Sheriff Gary Sexton said, describing the incident. 23 year-old Durioki Deshone Hawkins was originally behind the wheel, but Austin hopped into the driver's seat while Hawkins was being cuffed, leading to the cinematic chase.
Austin ended up flying as an attempt to avoid a road block set up by the cops, ultimately landing on another occupied car.
“I saw the underside of a vehicle coming at me, right at my face, and I went to the right sitting in my car,” said Barbara Harlon, who was luckily not crushed by Hawkins' vehicle. “I felt around to see if I was hurt and could tell that I was okay. God was with me.”
Police later discovered that the skyward truck had been stolen. Both Austin and Hawkins have since been jailed.
