A woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing from Saint Anthony Church church in Lakeland, Florida. 54-year-old Annie Southerland was arrested on Thursday after police say she was caught on surveillance video taking clothes from the donation bin.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Oxygen, Police were first contacted by the church on May 15 to report a theft of clothing from the donation bin.
When police checked the surveillance video from the church, they observed a white Ford Taurus with a Florida handicap tag pull into the back of the church. Documents say the video shows the suspect exiting the car and walking over to the donation bin and began removing items from the bin, taking all the bags of clothing and what appears to be a large purse from the bin and placing them in her car.
The affidavit states that on June 3, police were contacted again by Saint Anthony to report another burglary, and surveillance video showed the same vehicle from the previous incident and the same suspect removing items from the Church.
Investigators were able to get a partial tag number from the video and tracked down Southerland's location.
When police spoke with Southerland she allegedly admitted to being the person who had taken the items from the donation bin.
Southerland is charged with Petit Theft and Burglary and was released from the Polk County Jail after posting bond.
