A woman flying from Detroit to San Diego Monday reportedly blew past gate agents in an attempt to secure overhead space, landing her in hot water with law enforcement. After not complying with police, she was tackled and dragged down the aisle and off the plane. The whole event was filmed by a fellow passenger on the 8 a.m. Delta flight.
The video was first shared on the BoardingArea blog, which bills itself as “required reading for frequent flyers.” The original person who sent the video said, “she was mouthy and had a huge attitude. Police tackled her out of her seat and brought her to the ground. Not sure how she was subdued, some people speculated a taser.”
It is not known if the woman was arrested after being removed from the airplace. Delta Air Lines spokesman Anthony Black issued a statement saying, “Delta flight 2083 DTW to SAN incurred a slight departure delay due to a passenger not complying with boarding and baggage check procedures. The passenger was removed by local law enforcement and the flight was able to continue. Addition questions should be directed to airport law enforcement.”
