Investigators desperately search for a missing Georgia college student who vanished on Valentine’s Day and whose car was found near her apartment with the front bumper missing.

Anitra Gunn, 23, vanished on Friday at about 11:30 am outside Fort Valley, according to the Fort Valley Department of Public Health. She was last seen at the home of her boyfriend's aunt, Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese told 12WMAZ in Macon, Georgia. That specific location and some of the surrounding area have become epicenter of the search for Gunn.

Deese told 12WMAZ that investigators have been "searching the wood line, ditches, anything. We are just looking for what will help us find Ms. Gunn."

Gunn's car was discovered in a yard a few blocks from her apartment on Saturday, according to 12WMAZ. That area is about eight minutes away from where she was last seen. The front bumper of the car had been ripped off and investigators are searching for the missing part.

"We think that bumper is very important," Deese told 12WMAZ.

Gunn’s father Christopher Gunn told local outlet WGXA that family is important for his daughter. Breaking contact, he said, is highly unusual.

“For her to go this long without talking to someone, it’s just very, very out of character,” he said.

While Deese said there are no suspects in Gunn's disappearance, a car belonging to Deese’s boyfriend has been towed in connection with the investigation, according to 12WMAZ. The boyfriend has been questioned, and his aunt's home has been searched, but he’s not in custody. When asked if he was a current or former boyfriend, Deese said he isn’t sure. Deese told 12WMAZ that “everybody that knew her” is a person of interest at this point.

Deese did not immediately return Oxygen.com’s request for comment.

Gunn is a senior at Fort Valley State University, majoring in agriculture.

Fort Valley State University said in a statement that they are working closely with Fort Valley Police Department, 12MMAZ reports. “Campus officials have been in touch with Anitra’s family to offer our support for Anitra’s safe return,” they added.

Gunn is described as standing 5'7'' tall and weighing 165 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. It’s not clear what she was wearing when she vanished.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to call the Fort Valley Police Department at 478-825-3384.
