Could notes scrawled by a missing California woman’s ex-boyfriend lead to the discovery of her remains?

Marshall Curtis Jones, 27, allegedly wrote out detailed directions before disposing of the remains of Alexis Gabe, 24, in a rural area of Pioneer, KTVU reports. Police provided copies of the notes to Gabe's parents on Thursday.

Gabe’s parents posted the notes, allegedly found crumpled up in the garbage at Jones' sister's home by police during a search, on Facebook. According to an included letter, police allege that Jones had driven out to Pioneer and shut his phone off.

“We know that Marshall Jones wrote these directions to Pioneer and believe he used them to dispose of Alexis’ body near where the directions end,” the note states.

Gabe, of Oakley, had been missing since January after last being seen in Antioch. Police said that Jones, who lives in Antioch, was the last person she saw before she vanished.

Jones was killed by members of the Pacific Northwest Violent Offenders Task Force as they attempted to arrest him in Washington state in early June, Oakley Police Department announced during a press conference. A warrant charging him with the murder of his former girlfriend was issued earlier that day.

Gabe’s body has never been found. Her vehicle was found abandoned with the keys in the ignition in Oakley.

The Oakley Police Department has not responded to Oxygen.com’s request for comment.

In their letter, police noted that a friend of Jones told them that Jones called him two weeks before Gabe disappeared. He alleged that Jones told him that he was  "thinking about killing Alexis and wanted to know where the best place to hide a body would be."

The two decided "the best place to dispose of a body would be by placing it in a septic tank or burying the body in a forest area."

Police believe the friend thought the conversation was in jest.

The search for Gabe is ongoing and her family is still holding out hope that she could be alive.

“Until we find a body, we’re just going to keep believing that she’s still alive,” Alexis’ father Gwyn Gabe told KGO.
