An Ohio man stands accused in the “horrendous” fatal stabbing of his mother, whom he attacked at knifepoint in a parking lot in the Columbus suburbs, police said.

"She deserved it," Dorian White, 24, allegedly told police under questioning after the fatal knife attack of his mother, Melissa Graham.

White allegedly lured his 46-year-old mom, Melissa Graham, to his home on Monday, where he stabbed her to death, according to a police case summary report obtained by Oxygen.com

On Jan. 31, authorities found Graham suffering from stab wounds in a Grove City parking lot in the 2900 block of Addison Drive at approximately 6 p.m.

According to the case’s charging documents, White maced and stabbed his mother upwards of 20 times after she brought groceries to his home. He allegedly later kicked her as she laid bleeding to death on the ground.

"He only stopped stabbing her because he got tired," a complaint obtained by Oxygen.com stated.

White, who was later found near the crime scene in possession of a knife, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder related to the gruesome incident.

Graham was transported to Grant Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.

“It’s just completely and totally tragic,” Lt. Jason Stern, a public information officer for the Grove City Police Department told Oxygen.com on Friday afternoon. “I feel just terrible for the family…You can just imagine what this family is going through. This is an extreme trauma.”

An apparent motive in the Ohio mother’s slaying hasn’t been released, though police described the killing as premeditated.

“She was going over to help him with something, she thought she was helping — he was calling her over to bring groceries,” Stern said. “He told the detective in the interview that he planned it.”

White, who reportedly confessed to his mother’s killing, showed no remorse under police questioning.

“He said something like, ‘I knew this was wrong but she deserved it,’” Stern explained. “The way he was talking in the interview, it was really eerie, he was completely calm — just like a normal conversation. It was very weird.”

White was taken into police custody on Feb. 1 and was arraigned the following day in Franklin County Municipal Court, court records show. He hasn’t yet entered a plea, officials said. Law enforcement hasn’t released additional details pertaining to the active investigation.

Homicides, police said, are a rarity in Grove City, which has an approximate population of 41,000 people, and is located roughly 10 miles south of downtown Columbus. Graham’s murder marks the small Franklin County city’s first murder in 2022.

“It’s a big deal for us when there’s a death in our town,” Stern said. “It’s traditionally a very safe community.”

White has a preliminary court hearing scheduled for Feb. 10. He’s currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond at a Franklin County detention facility, police said.

White’s public defender, Scott Ciszewski, didn’t immediately reply to Oxygen.com’s request for comment regarding the open case on Friday afternoon.
