UPDATE: The LAPD has confirmed that Tanya Fear was found alive on Monday, according to NBC News. The case is closed and there is no crime to be investigated.

Family members on the #FindTanyaFear Twitter page have made the following statement:“Hi everyone,We are aware various media outlets are stating Tanya has been found. We have not received such verification at this time. We are anxious to confirm the same.”

A British actress who has appeared in shows such as "Doctor Who" has been reported missing in Los Angeles, according to those closest to her.

Tanyaradzwa Fear, better known as Tanya Fear, disappeared on Thursday in Los Angeles, according to ABC-7 News. Friends say they last saw her at a Trader Joe’s on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.

Alex Cole, Fear’s manager, confirmed her disappearance on NBC's TODAY, stating there appeared to be nothing wrong when they last spoke.

“It was a shock to me,” Cole told TODAY.

Family members reacted by creating a Twitter page dedicated to finding the missing actor.

“Tanya Fear left her Hollywood Bowl apartment on Thursday the 9th of September without her cell phone and purse,” they stated in a press release published on the Twitter page. “She was reported missing by a friend.”

According to the press release, Fear lived on and off in Los Angeles for the past six years, while TODAY reported she’d been in the area for two months.

“After Tanya’s family in the UK contacted the UK Foreign Office, a local LAPD police officer was deployed to visit Tanya’s house, but the actor was not home,” the statement on Twitter continued. “She was last seen on Thursday 9 September 2021 at 10pm LA time.”

The Zimbabwe-born actor has featured in projects such as "Doctor Who" and "Kick-Ass 2," according to her IMDB page.

Relatives say Fear had moved to Los Angeles to “further career in acting, screenwriting, and comedy,” according to their statement on Twitter.

“Since she’s been here, she’s had a great career, and this is just the beginning,” Cole told ABC-7. “We’re obviously concerned, and (hope) we find out this is a simple mistake, and we find her.”

Fear’s family members in the UK are currently applying for visas to go to Los Angeles and conduct their own search, according to the Twitter release.

“I am devastated about this situation,” Fear’s mother, Yvonne Marimo, was quoted in the release. “And I appeal to anyone with information to please come forward to bring our daughter back home safely.”

“We are deeply worried about Tanya’s whereabouts,” Fear’s uncle, Jonathan Marimo, said in Monday’s statement. “She is a bubbly, intelligent, young woman who studied at Christ Hospital Boarding School and Kings College University in London.”

People are spreading the word of Fear’s disappearance on Twitter using the hashtag #FindTanyaFear, including celebrities such as actor Harold Perrineau and bestselling author Bolu Babalola.

“My friend Tanya has gone missing in the LA/Hollywood Bowl area,” Babalola posted on Twitter, along with Fear’s picture. “On the day she went missing her hair was natural, in its afro state.”

The family has posted an updated missing persons flyer on their Twitter page, describing Tanya Fear as 5’4”, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and curly, dark, afro hair. She was last seen wearing a light brown/camel-colored short-sleeved shirt with a collar and dark, plaid bottoms with red and white stripes.
