An Arizona mother of six is missing after she allegedly told her family that her boyfriend had stabbed her in the neck.

Irene Luevano, 37, was last heard from around 4 a.m. on Sunday, according to a press release from the Phoenix Police Department.

“May be injured and in need of medical attention," they noted.

That possible injury stems from the last conversation that the mother of four had with family members.

Relatives told KPNX that she had called them around 4 a.m. to claim that her boyfriend had stabbed her in the neck. The boyfriend has been rushed to a hospital with self-inflicted stab wounds. He is apparently unconscious, according to KPNX.

The Phoenix Police Department has not immediately responded to Oxygen.com’s request for comment.

“At this time, the missing person remains open and active,” police spokesperson Sgt. Vincent Cole told Law&Crime in an email. “Ms. Luevano’s romantic partner was contacted by police at a local hospital and was questioned. He was subsequently booked into jail for charges unrelated to her disappearance.”

The boyfriend has been identified as Jorge Quintero Lara and he has been charged with two counts of larceny, according to Fox 10 Phoenix. Police claim he had forged identity and social security cards to obtain jobs. He also allegedly admitted to working for Sinaloa cartel, selling illegal pills, according to court docs obtained by the outlet.

"I need her home. She needs to come to her kids," Luevano’s sister Victoria Luevano told Fox 10 Phoenix.  She said she last spoke to her sibling, who recently became a grandmother, as she was getting ready to go out on the town with her boyfriend.

Luevano is described as a Hispanic woman, standing 5 foot 4 and weighing 180 pounds. She has brown eyes and hair. She was last seen wearing a black dress and black shoes. She may be in a Gray 2007 Chevy Impala with an Arizona license plate D3A9VE. Anyone with information is asked to call Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
