“Teen Mom 2” star Jade Cline was left trying to figure out how to bail her mother out of jail after her mother and stepfather were arrested for possession of meth and other drug-related charges earlier this year.

Cline’s mother, Christy Smith, and her stepfather, Michael Smith, were arrested on May 10 in Indiana, and both were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, according to jail records obtained by PEOPLE.

Both were also hit with additional counts of possession, including possession of a controlled substance for Christy and possession of marijuana for Michael, the outlet reports.

The ordeal played out in a recent episode of the popular MTV series, with Cline being shown in one clip posted online receiving a call from her mother, who contacted her unexpectedly from the Marion County Jail.

“Please come bond me out of jail, please,” Christy can be heard saying over the phone.

Cline, who was in the car with her young daughter Kloie at the time, responded, “What the f--k? You’re in jail?”

“Come bond me out for 500 and I’ll pay you back, I swear to God, please,” Cline’s mother answered.

Cline, growing increasingly upset, then told her mother, “What the f--k, mom? I don’t have $500 right now.”

The tense interaction ended with Christy promising to pay “every dime” back and Cline telling Christy that she’d have to “come up with the money somehow,” possibly by taking up a collection from others.

Michael and Christy Smith were taken into custody in May after police were called to investigate a possible overdose, Radar Online previously reported. The officer approached the couple in their car, and later, after asking both parties to step out so that he could search the vehicle, allegedly discovered marijuana, meth, and drug paraphernalia, prompting their arrest, an affidavit obtained by the outlet reportedly states.

All charges against the couple were dismissed in August, a Marion County court clerk confirmed to Radar Online.

Cline, who joined the “Teen Mom 2” cast earlier this year as a replacement for controversial cast member Jenelle Evans, previously spoke out about her parents’ battle with addiction.

“They’ve been strung out for so long,” Cline reportedly said during the “Teen Mom 2” reunion. “They’re binge addicts. It hurts because I’ve grown up and I haven’t had my mom there.”
