Actor Jared Padalecki was arrested over the weekend after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with multiple people at a bar in Austin, Texas.
Officers with the Austin Police Department were called to Stereotype, a bar in downtown Austin, at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, local ABC affiliate KVUE reports. Padalecki, 37, is alleged to have gotten into an argument with patrons inside the bar, which he reportedly owns, at which point the assistant manager led him outside.
Padalecki then allegedly slapped the assistant manager and punched the general manager in the face hard enough to draw blood from his eyebrow, according to an affidavit obtained by the outlet.
Video posted by TMZ on Sunday shows a man believed to be Padalecki putting a man, identified by the outlet as a friend who tried to calm the actor down, in a headlock. At another point, he can be seen leaning against a police car as he talks to officers.
An employee told officers who responded to the scene that Padalecki was “the antagonist one hundred percent” in the situation, according to the affidavit obtained by KVUE.
The “Supernatural” star, who officers said appeared intoxicated upon their arrival, allegedly would not talk to police and put his hands on them at one point, prompting them to place him in handcuffs and put him in the back of a patrol car, the outlet reports.
Padalecki was charged with two counts of assault and one count of public intoxication. His bond was set at $15,000, according to Page Six.
He was booked at the Travis County Jail, but was no longer in custody as of Monday, per KVUE’s report.
Padalecki has starred on the CW’s “Supernatural” since it premiered in 2005. The show is currently in the midst of filming its 15th and final season, but production was not affected by Padalecki’s arrest, Deadline reports.
Padalecki, who is a Texas native and currently lives in Austin, was back in his home state at the time of his arrest due to a break in filming; he is scheduled to return to Vancouver, Canada to resume filming the series later this week, according to the outlet.
Padalecki has not commented publicly on his arrest, and a representative for the actor did not immediately return a request for comment from Page Six.
