Kanye West is currently under investigation for battery after allegedly punching a fan who asked for his autograph.

The incident happened on Thursday morning around 3 a.m. outside of the exclusive club Soho Warehouse in downtown Los Angeles. A fan approached the SUV in which West was sitting and asked for the rapper's autograph.West then allegedly got out of the vehicle and punched the man, local outlet Fox 11 reports. The autograph seeker then reportedly fell to the ground.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told Oxygen.com via email on Thursday afternoon that "a Battery Report was completed with Kanye West as a named suspect."

They said that no arrests have been made and that the incident is being investigated by their Newton Division. They did not provide additional information.

A spokesperson for the department did tell Fox News that "Kanye West was exiting a local eatery and he became engaged with the victim, a male. The victim called the police. By the time police got there, Kanye West was gone,"

TMZ obtained and published a video of West standing outside an SUV, and can be heard yelling, “Did y’all say that or not? Did y’all say that or not?' Cause that’s what happened right f–king now.”

West was out with his new girlfriend, Julia Fox, as well as celebs including Madonna, just hours before the incident, according to Page Six. The recent romance has been sparking headlines lately as it’s been reported that West is doting on Fox with lavish gifts amidst his high profile split with Kim Kardashian West. The two were featured in a pictorial for Interview Magazine that documented West presenting Fox with an entirely new, designer wardrobe.

The "Donda" singer, who also goes by Ye, has not yet publicly commented on the allegations. He could face up to six months behind bars if convicted.
