Kelly Siegler Is Diving into Texas' Most Shocking Murders and Toughest Trials in New Oxygen Show

Texas Justice With Kelly Siegler will revisit Texas true crime stories — all told with Kelly’s unique insight and unparalleled access.

By Becca van Sambeck

Kelly Siegler has been digging into cold cases and helping local law enforcement solve murders in small towns across the country for years now, as seen on Cold Justice. With her newest series on Oxygen True Crime, though, Siegler is returning to her home state and taking a different kind of look back at the past.

Oxygen True Crime has announced Siegler, a former prosecutor, is partnering with the network for Texas Justice With Kelly Siegler. This new true crime series examines the most shocking murder investigations and toughest trials in Texas history — all told with Kelly’s unique insight and unparalleled access.

As Chief of Special Crimes in the busiest courthouse in the Lone Star state, Kelly Siegler battled to get killers into courtrooms to face their formidable defense attorneys. With her own first-hand accounts alongside investigators and victims’ families, Kelly will reveal what really happened beyond the newspaper headlines to bring Texas-style justice.

The series will premiere in fall 2023 on Oxygen.

Those familiar with Cold Justice know Siegler for her savvy investigating skills, her quick wit, and her passion for justice. The show, which has ran for six seasons, sees Siegler and her team of detectives investigating unsolved homicides in small towns.

They've had incredible success when it comes to bringing both justice and closure for families: While working with local law enforcement, the Cold Justice team has successfully helped bring about 49 arrests and 21 convictions.

On the past season of Cold Justice, Siegler and her companions came up with a new theory regarding the1992 death of an East Texas teen found burned in a car, investigated the disappearances of two people who vanished months apart in the same small community, helped make an arrest in the case of a woman seemingly scalped to death by a sadistic killer, and looked into the murder of a seminary student stabbed to death in a chapel restroom, among other cases.

"The challenge is — think about that how hard is it to work a fresh murder case when the witnesses are down the street and it just happened yesterday. To present to a jury a cold case with all the challenges and twists and turns and difficulties, that's a challenge and that's what made me like doing it," Siegler told Oxygen.com of her experiences with Cold Justice.

She also raved about her team of investigators, who have helped her make important breakthroughs on cases.

"Everybody on this team is real, everybody is here for the right reasons to do the right thing, and all anybody really wants to do is help these cops solve their cases and that's what everybody is all about. That's the best part of it," she concluded.

Season 7 of Cold Justice from Wolf Entertainment and Magical Elves will return in 2024 to Oxygen.

Texas Justice with Kelly Siegler (WT) is produced by Wolf Entertainment, Universal Television Alternative Studio and Magical Elves.
