The bodies of a missing Oklahoma couple were found dumped on a road outside the town of Vera, and the cousin of one of the victims has been accused in the killings.

Wesley “Brock” Pavey, 32, is now facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Kraig and Sheri Chambers.

Tulsa County Undersheriff George Brown told Oxygen.com that the bodies were discovered about a tenth of a mile from one another after they were first reported missing late Saturday.

“Our detectives worked diligently throughout the weekend and did an outstanding job closing this case with an arrest and pending prosecution,” Brown said. “Our hearts are with the families of the deceased, and we hope the steadfast work of our law enforcement professionals will, in some small measure, help in the healing process for the victims’ families and our entire community.”

Tulsa County Communications Director Casey Roebuck told The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise that deputies were called to the couple’s home Saturday after family members had become concerned when they couldn’t reach them.

“We went out and found physical evidence in the home that led us to believe the couple had possibly met with foul play,” she said.

Family members told investigators that Pavey, who is Kraig Chamber’s cousin, had been out to visit the couple earlier that day, according to Tulsa World. Pavey had reportedly been estranged from the family at the time and Roebuck said he had likely not been welcome at the house.

Authorities believe the couple was shot in their garage before the bodies were later transported to another location, according to a statement from the department obtained by People.

After putting out an alert for Pavey, Oklahoma City Police found the 32-year-old and took him into custody before he was returned to Tulsa.

During questioning, Roebuck said Pavey admitted to shooting the couple and led authorities to their bodies.

Kraig Chamber’s body was found under a bridge. His wife was found in a nearby drainage culvert, according to authorities.

Pavey is no stranger to legal trouble and has past convictions for DUI, drug possession, eluding police, burglary, larceny and concealing stolen property, The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise reports.

He is currently being held in the Tulsa County Jail without bond, according to jail records.
