New Jersey police are searching for a white semi-truck after a bloodied woman was seen screaming for help and trying to escape from the truck’s cab.

South Brunswick Township Police told WNBC a customer at a nearby car dealership spotted a woman trying to jump from the truck after it pulled over around 2 p.m. Wednesday along Route 130 near Dayton Toyota.

The woman was “bleeding from the face” and appeared to be in distress as she screamed for help, police said in a statement.

Surveillance footage recovered by police showed the woman trying to escape through a passenger side window. She had almost gotten fully outside the vehicle when police said she was pulled back in by the driver.

The driver—who was described by authorities as an older white male with a white beard and blue shirt—took off heading south on Route 130, before getting off at the Ridge Road exit.

The victim has been described as a white or Hispanic female in her 20s with long brown hair and a brown flannel shirt.

Authorities are now trying to track down the woman and driver of the white tractor-trailer cab and have asked for the public’s help to identify the vehicle.

Investigators described the truck to WNBC as possibly a 2006-2018 Volvo or Mac Bobtail truck with blue writing on the side. Authorities believe it may have New Jersey tags.

At the time of the incident, there was no trailer attached to the cab, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the South Brunswick Police at 732-329-4646.
