70-Year-Old Allegedly Impregnated 13-Year-Old Girl, Claimed It Was 'Consensual'
A 13-year-old girl in Florida went to the hospital complaining of constipation, but found out she was pregnant.
A trip to the hospital which started as a 13-year-old complaining of constipation led to the disturbing discovery that she was pregnant, allegedly from a 70-year-old man.
Renaud Jerome, of Boca Raton, Florida, has been charged with three counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of impregnating a child, according to online jail records. He is being held in a Palm Beach County Jail with no bond.
The child showed up at North Broward Medical Center in Pompano Beach Friday morning complaining about being in pain, according to a Boca Raton police report obtained by Oxygen.com. She thought she had severe constipation.
“Upon medical examination it was determined that [name redacted] was fourteen weeks pregnant," the complaint states.
The Florida Department of Children and Families, as well as a Broward County Sheriff's Child Protection official, interviewed the child who allegedly told them Jerome would touch her and have sex with her while she was sleeping.
He was present at the hospital along with the pregnant child, and told investigators he was her caretaker. It’s not clear if they are at all related.
He allegedly claimed the two "had consensual vaginal intercourse" there times over the last few months.
No child under the age of 16 can legally consent to sex in Florida.
"Jerome stated that [name redacted] was interested in him more than he was interested in her and never forced her to do anything," the report states. He allegedly admitted to impregnating her.
It’s not clear if he has a lawyer who can speak on his behalf at this time.
