"Growing Up Hip Hop" star Angela Simmons’ ex-fiance and the father of her child was fatally shot in Georgia over the weekend, multiple outlets report.

Sutton Tennyson died after being shot several times in the garage of a home in Georgia at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Atlanta-based station CBS46. Police say that Tennyson and another man, whose identity has not been shared, got into an argument before the shots were fired, according to CBS46.

The man suspected of shooting Tennyson then “sped from the scene in a car,” according to a police statement obtained by USA Today. Police are currently investigating Tennyson’s slaying but no arrests have been made in connection to the incident yet, the outlet states.

Tennyson was 37 years old at the time of his death. He and Angela Simmons, daughter of hip hop icon Rev. Run of Run DMC, announced their engagement in 2016 and welcomed a son, Sutton Tennyson Jr., before splitting up last year.

The day after Tennyson’s death, Simmons took to social media to share moving memories of her former partner.

“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift. I’m hurting. I’m numb,” she wrote alongside a photo of Tennyson holding their young son. “Thank you for the out pouring of love everyone. I cant believe I'm even saying Rest In Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”

Alongside a clip of her 2-year-old son watching videos of his father on a phone, Simmons wrote, “Reflecting. He keeps replaying it. RIP Sutton.”
