Dashawn Webster of Portsmouth, Virginia had a thumb drive with 15 images of a victim, police said.

He wanted credit for his work. Now that could land him in prison.

A Virginia man was arrested in connection with two child pornography investigations after he watermarked his sick footage with his usernames and the word "copyright," police said.

Dashawn Webster, 22, was arrested May 18 for one investigation led by Interpol and another led by Homeland Security investigators in Boston.

In one case, Webster is accused of molesting a 2-year-old boy in 2016 and then posting the images of that crime online, The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk reported. Investigators had found a thumb drive while investigating a different child porn suspect. It included 15 images of the victim with the watermark that led to Webster, according to WTKR in Norfolk.

Police said Webster confessed to making the child porn when they arrested him.  In another case, police allegedly discovered five videos of a man engaging in sex acts with a male child, The Virginian-Pilot reported. It's not clear if Webster is the man in that footage.

Before his arrest, police had scoped out Webster's home and discovered he had been babysitting as recently as this month.

“He never goes out. He’s always there,” neighbor Carolyn Christensen told WTKR about Webster.

Webster made an appearance in a U.S. District Court last week where he waived his scheduled court hearings. His lawyer has declined to comment.
