Teacher’s Alleged Child Porn Stash Discovered After X-Rated Image Snafu In Class

James Alleman, a computer science teacher in Texas, accidentally showed students an inappropriate image, which prompted police to take a closer look at his computer.

A Texas high school computer teacher, who resigned after accidentally showing pornographic images to one of his classes when the images popped up on a projection screen, is now facing separate child pornography charges.

The Belton Police Department seized James Edward Alleman III's work computer, along with an external hard drive and MicroSD card he kept in his desk, after a student reported Alleman had shown the class inappropriate pornographic images on Sept. 28, according to KCEN.

When the images came up onto a projection screen in the classroom as he had been trying to start a lesson, Alleman told the class, "That should have never happened," according to the student.

Alleman was suspended by the high school and later resigned, but the incident sparked a deeper investigation by police.

After obtaining a search warrant and reviewing the contents on the confiscated computer equipment, police say they found four videos on the SD card of a young 10-year-old girl changing in a bathroom as her exposed breasts and genitals were in view of the camera, the local news station reports, citing an arrest affidavit.

Alleman's wife allegedly told police she knew who the girl was in the video and said the video appeared to be taken in a bathroom of a home the Allemans had recently been staying.

Police also spoke with the young girl, who has not been identified. She told police she didn't know she was being filmed or that there was a camera in the bathroom, KXXV reports.

Investigators say they also discovered a computer search history in Chinese and Japanese on Alleman's computer equipment that, when translated, included search terms such as "teen scandal" "webcam underwear teen" and "school girl masturbation."

The school district issued a letter to parents on Oct. 15 to notify them that Alleman had resigned from his post, but made no mention that he had showed the inappropriate images to students.

In a statement given last week to Fox 44 News, Todd Schiller, assistant superintendent for human resources for the Belton ISD, said the district had taken immediate action once the allegations were made.

“The safety and well-being of students is our highest priority. Upon learning of inappropriate use of technology by former Belton High School teacher James Alleman, he was immediately removed from the classroom, and Belton Police Department was notified," Schiller said.

Alleman, who is now facing child pornography charges, was arrested and booked into Bell County Jail but has since been released on bond.

One student who knew the former teacher told KCEN the charges were shocking.

"I never really figured that that would happen so yeah, it's just shocking," the student said.
