Jimmy Kimmel got into a head-on crash on the famous Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, the comedian and TV personality crashed his BMW as he was trying to cross traffic. The incident left the front of his car visibly damaged.

TMZ has video from the accident scene, which took place in front of the popular Chateau Marmont Hotel. A witness says that Kimmel was trying to make a left onto Sunset, despite a "right turn only" sign. The airbags in the car were deployed.

Neither Kimmel nor anyone else was reported injured. Kimmel was seen on the scene of the incident on his cell afterwards. The driver of the other car, an Audi, was also seen speaking into a cell.

As of Friday morning, the late night host did not discuss he incident on social media.

According to the Daily Mail, the accident actually happened as Kimmel was en route to the 2018 Oscars rehearsal. As Mediaite shares, this will be the second year that Kimmel hosts the Academy Awards.

Elsewhere, Kimmel has continued to be active in the comedic political space. This week, Kimmel covered Devin Nunes and went on a rant about the political intrigue around the GOP memo. "Here's how our government works now: If your party is in charge, you can lie, you can cheat, you can game the system to benefit your buddies, you can basically do whatever you want."  He likened the Republican party to a "perverted circus." "To call Devin Nunez Donald Trump’s lap dog would be an insult to dogs. And laps,” he said.

He joked, "The lions are eating the horses. The tightropes are snapping, clowns are attacking children… and Paul Ryan is standing there, smiling and waving like an animatronic Forrest Gump.” He continued, “Trump knows if he’s 'innocent' of involvement in the Russian election meddling, and obstruction of justice, so he wants to release that memo just to cover himself. And that is probably what he will do tomorrow.”

Kimmel is also joining forces wih Billy Eichner to create content around the 2018 midterm elections. They hope to make the elections, which are usually not popular, into a "sexy" event for young people.
