Video of a mother dunking her 3-year-old son's head in a toilet has resulted in alleged death threats and a police investigation.

Kaitlyn Wolf of Leesburg, Florida told WESH2 in Orlando that the video, which went was recorded by her 10-year-old child last week and later went viral on Facebook, was just a prank.

The video shows Wolf flushing the toilet while holding her son by his arms. He screams as his head hovers inside the bowl.

"It was just a joke," Wolf said, adding that she had sent it to a former friend who sent it to another mutual friend, who posted it to Facebook, much to the shock of people on social media. They didn’t find it funny and neither did the local police.

“The Leesburg Police Department has received multiple calls and messages about a recently shared Facebook video, depicting a woman holding her son's head inside the rim of a toilet,” police announced on Sunday. They stated that the incident currently under investigation by the Department of Children and Families, and that they are working with the State Attorney's Office to determine appropriate criminal prosecution.

Possible charges aren’t the only repercussion Wolf is dealing with. She told WESH she has received death threats.

"They've threatened to kill me, murder me, shove my head in a toilet, bury me halfway alive, cut my head off," Wolf said.

She maintains that the video was all in fun and that her son was having a good time.

“His face didn't get wet. It's not a dirty toilet. He wasn't being tortured in any way," Wolf said.

However, she told WFTV in Orlando that the toilet-dunking was a form of discipline after her son used profanity.
