While putting up Christmas lights, a man discovered the body of his infant son inside a garbage bag stuffed under his home’s porch and now the child’s mother, a woman from  Shenango, Pennsylvania, has been charged with murder.

According to a police affidavit, Brittany Robinson, 23, told police she didn’t know she was pregnant until she gave birth to the child while in a bathtub, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The infant’s father made the gruesome discovery on Sunday while he was re-routing an extension cord to put up Christmas lights.

“The homeowner was out preparing wiring for some decorative lighting and came across the bag in which he discovered a baby,” Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Eric Hermick told KDKA.

Robinson told police that the baby’s father had no idea that she was pregnant. Police claim they found evidence that Robinson was aware of her pregnancy long before she gave birth.

“She has an 8-year-old child as well at this time, so she’s familiar with being pregnant and how this all occurs,” Hermick said. “So that’s part of our case as well.”

Robinson claimed the baby, which weighed 7 pounds at birth, had no heartbeat or pulse. Police are investigating how and why the infant ended up in a garbage bag.

In addition to murder, Robinson has been charged with concealing the death of a child, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. It is unclear if she has a lawyer that can speak on her behalf at this time. An autopsy on the child is pending.
