North Carolina White Woman Fired For Racist Rant At Black Neighbor Caught On Video

“I’m white and I make $125,000 a year and I want to make sure that you’re all up in here,” Susan Westwood can be heard saying in the video.

A white North Carolina woman filmed going on a racist rant at her black neighbor has been fired from her job.

News outlets report the video shows Susan Westwood approaching sisters Leisa and Mary Garris in a Charlotte parking lot earlier this month and saying "I am white and hot. So what are you doing here?"

An apparently drunk Westwood is heard asking where the sisters live, if they're visiting their "baby daddy" and if she needs to reveal her concealed weapon.

“What’s going on here in this parking lot that you feel that you need to congregate?” Westwood can be heard asking. She later goes on to say, “I’m white and I make $125,000 a year and I want to make sure that you’re all up in here,” Westwood says. “Girl, girl, I got you, girl, I’m white, girl, I’m white!”

The sisters ask Westwood to leave them alone as they're waiting for AAA. They eventually call 911.

Charter Communications spokesman Patrick Paterno said Sunday that Westwood has been fired from her $125,000-per-year job referenced in the video.

“The incident recorded in Charlotte is a blatant violation of Charter’s code of conduct and clearly disregards the company’s commitment to inclusion and respectful behavior,” Paterno said in a statement sent to the Charlotte Observer. “As such, Ms. Westwood’s employment with the company has been terminated, effective immediately.”

Westwood has been issued criminal summons of communicating threats and simple assault. She wasn't reached for comment; a cellphone listing for Westwood was reportedly disconnected by Monday afternoon, according to the Observer.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
