New York, NY – January 30, 2018 – Bravo Media has greenlit a two season, straight to series order for the scripted anthology series, “Dirty John," from Universal Cable Productions (UCP), it was announced today by Frances Berwick, President, Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. From UCP, in association with Los Angeles Times Studios and Atlas Entertainment, and based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast “Dirty John” from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, the series, which will be written and executive produced by Alexandra Cunningham, tells the story of how a romance with the charismatic John Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial, manipulation, and ultimately, survival – with horrific consequences for an entire family. Season two will be a different and self-contained story, with details to come at a later date. Additionally, Oxygen Media has ordered a companion docuseries produced by Herzog & Co and Los Angeles Times Studios, investigating the real life “Dirty John" through the eyes of those he deceived.

“Dirty John” will be executive produced and written by Alexandra Cunningham (“Chance,” “Desperate Housewives”). Richard Suckle and Charles Roven will serve as executive producers for Atlas Entertainment and Mark Herzog, Christopher G. Cowen and Chris Argentieri will serve as executive producers for Los Angeles Times Studios. Alexandra Cunningham is represented by WME, who also reps Los Angeles Times Studios and Atlas Entertainment.
Oxygen Media’s companion docuseries will feature the people whose lives were torn apart by the manipulation and deceit of John Meehan, the man they call “Dirty John.” The project will be produced by Herzog & Co and Los Angeles Times Studios with Mark Herzog and Christopher G. Cowen serving as executive producers, respectively.
