Radio personality and reality TV star Melyssa Ford was reportedly in a car accident last week that caused in a severe head injury.

The accident took place on Thursday, entertainment website TMZ reported. Ford was driving on a L.A. highway when an 18-wheeler clipped her car, causing it to flip. Friends of Ford said she sustained injuries including a fractured skull, a concussion and a huge gash on her forehead, according to TMZ.

“She was involved in a horrific accident that could have easily taken her life,” reality TV star Claudia Jordan wrote on Instagram, with a photo from the accident that she says was shared with her by a good Samaritan on the spot. “It’s actually a miracle she survived. She’s injured FOR REAL.”

US Weekly reported Sunday that her head wound was 10-inches long and had to be “surgically closed and stapled.”

Jordan said in her Instagram post that Ford had lost her memory about what happened, and urged witnesses to come forward.

Ford’s mother Barbara Ford told US Weekly, “It’s so difficult in circumstances like these to live 2,500 miles away from my only daughter. Melyssa is strong, always has been. We are going to get through this together.”

Ford’s last post on Instagram appears to have been just before the accident, where she wrote,  “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes. Including YOU.”

She's currently the cohost of the radio program "Hollywood Unlocked" and has appeared on Bravo's "Blood Sweat and Heels."
