Sylvester Stallone Is Being Investigated For Sex Crimes Over Alleged Incident From The '90s

Sylvester Stallone is being investigated for an alleged incident first reported to police in November 2017.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office is reportedly reviewing a sex crime case against actor Sylvester Stallone for an alleged incident from the 1990s.

Police are not sharing details about the incident or sharing a timetable for its review, according to CNN. The case was first reported to Santa Monica Police in November 2017.

The "Rocky" star, through his lawyer, refuted the accusations.

"My client categorically denies the allegations," Stallone's attorney Martin Singer told CNN"It's outrageous that the DA's office and PD would announce this information because it makes the public think that there's something there."

"It's not appropriate to try to ruin someone by doing this," Singer added.

Singer said the woman who filed the complaint had been involved in a consensual relationship with Stallone in 1980s.

In December, Singer had said that a woman had "filed a police report alleging a rape that occurred 27 years ago," which Singer said Stallone denied, according to NBC News.

The case is being reviewed by a Los Angeles County task force that investigates possible sex crimes in the entertainment industry.

Stallone has faced at least one prior sexual misconduct accusation. In November 2017, Stallone denied accusations about forcing a 16-year-old fan into a sexual encounter in Las Vegas with his since-deceased bodyguard Mike de Luca in 1986. Stallone says that his relationship with the fan was consensual. The age of consent in Nevada at the time was 16. Stallone was accused of threatening the alleged victim into silence.

“This is a ridiculous, categorically false story,” Stallone's spokesperson, Michelle Bega, told People at the time. “No one was ever aware of this story until it was published… At no time was Mr. Stallone ever contacted by any authorities or anyone else regarding this matter.”

It is unclear if the new investigation is in any way related to the earlier accusation.
