Husband Of ‘Teen Mom’ Star Investigated For Animal Cruelty After Killing His Wife's Dog

David Eason later defended his decision to kill the animal in an Instagram post.

David Eason, the husband of “Teen Mom” star Janelle Evans, is reportedly under investigation for suspected animal cruelty following reports that he killed his wife's dog.

Eason is believed to have killed Nugget, Evans' French bulldog, after it allegedly bit their 2-year-old daughter in the face, Page Six reports. He posted a video of the animal snapping at his daughter and justifying his decision in the caption, but the clip has since been deleted from Instagram.

“I dont give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face … whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I dont put up with that s–t at all,” he wrote, according to Page Six. “I’m all about protecting my family, it is my lifes mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me.”

“You can hate me all you want but this isnt the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge weather or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME,” he continued.

Police in North Carolina have launched an investigation into the alleged killing, authorities confirmed to Page Six on Thursday.

“Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus County Animal Control initiated a joint investigation into allegations,” reads their statement.

News of an investigation comes after the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office previously opted not to investigate after performing a welfare check at the couple’s home and finding “no evidence to substantiate a further investigation,” according to the outlet.

Evans' ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith also called 911 after learning Eason had shot the dog, requesting a welfare check as his and Evans' 4-year-old son was in the house during the dog's shooting, reports TMZ.

Amid reports of an investigation, TMZ reported Saturday that Eason is currently seeking treatment for his anger management issues. Those close to the family have also reportedly contacted Child Protective Services about getting Eason removed from the home that he shares with Evans and three children, according to TMZ.

Eason shot the dog because he “doesn’t put up with that and those are his beliefs,” Evans told Us Weekly, adding, “He just took her and shot her in the woods … about two acres away from the house.”

The couple is reportedly “not on talking terms,” said Evans, who is “hurt and upset” over what happened.

After the dog’s death, Evans shared a photo of herself and her beloved pet on Instagram, writing in the caption that she was “crying everyday.”

“I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless,” she continued. “You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me. You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons. Everyday I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed... you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back.”

The relationship between Evans and Eason has been marred by suspected violence before. The reality TV star called 911 in October to report that her husband “pinned” her to the ground and drunkenly assaulted her, but later called the incident a “misunderstanding.”
