A Florida teenager has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after breaking into his neighbor’s home, raping the woman at knifepoint for 90 minutes and then offering to do yardwork at her house to make up for the attack.

Timothy Adam Walding was just 18 years old when he broke into his neighbor’s home around 4 a.m. on Oct. 6, 2017, wearing a ski mask and attacked the 35-year-old mother of two in her master bedroom, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Walding, now 19, tied the woman up, threatened her with a knife, raped her and forced her to perform a sex act during the harrowing ordeal, before allowing her to put her clothes back on and taking off his mask, confirming his identity.

The woman, who hasn’t been identified, said Walding told her he had picked her lock with a fish hook, telling her that she should have had a deadbolt in place because, “I didn’t really want to do this but I had to do it.”

Walding, who had reportedly planned the attack in advance, then offered to do some yardwork or fix something around the house to make up for the attack, according to the Associated Press.

She refused his offer to help at the home.

He asked her not to tell anyone about the attack and they shook hands on it before he left. She called authorities a short time later.

A jury found Walding guilty of sexual battery, false imprisonment and armed burglary in October.

He was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison, the mandatory minimum sentence for his crimes.
