Peacock has dropped a brand new trailer for their upcoming series about “Tiger King’s” Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic.

The limited series “Joe Vs. Carole” explores the “untold origin” of the big cat rivals who took the world by storm when “Tiger King” premiered on Netflix in 2020. Starring Kate McKinnon (SNL) as animal rights activist Carole Baskin and John Cameron Mitchell as Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, the scripted adaptation focuses on their widely publicized conflict, and their own untold backstories before the documentary thrust them into worldwide fame.

Etan Frankel, the show’s creator and showrunner, said last month that he hopes people will see the stranger-than-fiction story from a new point of view, according to TV Insider.

“’Joe Vs. Carole’ is a wild ride. It’s a fun and rich journey into the story of people who live very extreme lives,” Frankel said. “When I took on this project a year and a half ago, I found Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin to be utterly fascinating, and this crazy tale about two big cat lovers quickly became an important story for me to tell. I hope that when people watch ‘Joe Vs. Carole,’ just maybe they’ll see these people that they thought they knew in a brand new way.”

The trailer, released on Thursday, dives into the campaign by Carole Baskin to put an end to “documented animal abuser” Joe Exotic.

“He is a psychopath who wishes me dead,” McKinnon’s character says while wrestling with her allergies to cats.

“Someone’s gotta kill that b---h,” says Mitchell’s gun-toting character as he urinates into a toilet.

But beyond the rivalry that laid the foundation for the Netflix documentary - reaching a reported 64 million households at the dawn of the COVID-19 pandemic in its first month alone – “Joe Vs. Carole” examines the lesser-known pasts of Baskin and Exotic.

The trailer glimpses into Exotic’s years-long relationship with his first husband, Brian Rhyne, who died in 2001. We also see Carole Baskin scamper off-screen when a threatening man screams at her in what appears to be an abusive household.

The trailer moves forward into Exotic’s opening of GW Zoo in Oklahoma to the murder-for-hire plot against Baskin, which he was convicted of in 2019.

“I come from a home that didn’t feel like a sanctuary,” says McKinnon’s character. “He has no idea what I’ve been through in my life.”

Kate McKinnon and John Cameron Mitchell “nail their portrayals,” according to Yahoo Entertainment, while creator Frankel also praised them for their performances.

“It was an absolute thrill to watch these two exceptional actors morph into these roles,” stated Frankel.

“Joe Vs. Carole” premieres on Peacock on March 3.
