10 Summer Cocktails Under 200 Calories

Summertime means rooftop bars, beach coolers filled to the brim with beers, and even happier happy hours. With the ever-beckoning lure of an ice-cold drink on a hot day, it’s hard to remember that cocktails typically pack lots of empty calories – most are in the neighborhood of 200 each! There’s no need to deprive yourself of that hard-earned after-work adult beverage, though. Plenty of concoctions are low on calories and high in flavor, making it easy to preserve that bikini body. Bottoms up!

1. Tickled Pink: 99 Calories

1 oz. Belvedere Vodka
1 oz. sugar-free raspberry preserve
1 orange wedge squeezed and dropped into shaker
Shake on ice. Pour 1-1/2 oz. of Mionetto Prosecco in martini glass. Pour contents of shaker into martini glass with Prosecco. Garnish with 2 fresh raspberries on a bar pick.

2. Farmer's Market Margarita: 164 Calories

1 1/4 ounces Corzo Silver
2 sprigs cilantro
2 slices cucumber
2 slices jalapeno
1 ounce fresh lime juice
2 ounces distilled water
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon sugar
1 lime wheel, for garnish
Combine first seven ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and shake. Serve over the rocks and garnish with lime wheel.

1 1/2 ounces coconut-flavored rum
3 ounces pineapple juice
4 ounces sparkling water

2 ounces Minute Maid Light Orange Tangerine Juice
4 ounces champagne
Juice of 1/2 medium-size orange, or 1 to 2 ounces
Add several ice cubes to a tall glass. Squeeze the juice of the orange into the glass. Pour in orange tangerine juice, followed by champagne. Stir. Garnish with fresh orange rinds, curled.

1 1/2 ounces rum
6 mint leaves
1/2 ounce Truvia® Simple Syrup**
Soda water
Mint leaves and lime for garnish
In a cocktail shaker add all the ingredients together except soda water and fill halfway with ice. Shake vigorously. Double strain into glass filled with ice, add splash of soda water and garnish.

6. CosLOWpolitan: 82 calories

1 1/2 ounces Voli Lyte Vodka
1 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce cranberry juice
Sugar for rim
Orange peel (for garnish)
Add all ingredients (except for the garnish) into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Run orange slice around rim of chilled martini glass. Dip the glass into sugar. Shake your cocktail and strain into the chilled martini glass. Garnish with orange peel.

7. The Healthiest Summer Sangria EVER: 152 calories

1.5 bottles red wine
1/4 cup triple sec
2 cups sparkling lemon/lime/orange-flavored water (make sure the brand you choose has no added sugar)
1 pear diced
1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
2 oranges diced or sliced (not peeled)
1 cup pineapple chunks
1/4 cup orange juice
Combine everything (except the sparkling water) in a large pitcher, and store in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Before serving, add the sparkling water to the pitcher, stir completely, and serve!

6 slices cucumber
5 pieces honeydew melon
5 mint leaves
3 ounces Inniskillin Vidal
1 cucumber wheel, for garnish
1 mint sprig, for garnish
In a mixing glass, muddle cucumber, melon, and mint. Add Vidal and ice and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with cucumber wheel and mint sprig.

2 oz. (1/4 cup) diet lemon-lime soda
2 oz. (1/4 cup) pineapple-orange juice
1 oz. (2 tbsp.) rum
3 drops almond extract
1 no-calorie sweetener packet (like Splenda)
1/2 oz. (1 tbsp.) dark spiced rum
Optional garnish: pineapple wedge
Combine all ingredients except dark spiced rum, mix well, and serve over ice. Top with dark spiced rum. Garnish with a pineapple wedge (or not) and enjoy!

10. Watermelon Fizz: 100 Calories

1 oz. tequila
3 oz. watermelon
0.1 oz. simple syrup
0.1 oz. soda water
5 cilantro pieces (optional)
Squeeze of lime
1 bamboo spike (optional)
Muddle the watermelon with the optional cilantro leaves in a cocktail shaker (or if you want a sweet drink, just stick with the watermelon). Then add ice, simple syrup, and tequila. Shake vigorously and pour all contents into a rocks glass. If you'd like, garnish with a piece of watermelon in a bamboo spike.
