Texting is a cornerstone of modern dating, one that inspires copious amounts of overthinking and overanalyzing. Here are seven thoughts we've all had when the guy we're interested in goes ghost. (You may not be proud of it, but you know it's true.)
1. I don't like him anyway.
He's not even that cute anyway, with that #strugglebeard. His loss. *hair flip*
2. I love being single.
Relationships are for suckers. This is a sign from God that I'm not supposed to have a boyfriend right now anyway.
3. I'm going to die alone.
Guess I'll just go ahead and adopt 43 cats now.
4. I am not going to keep checking my phone. I am not.
Aaaand then you check your phone every five minutes for the next hour.
5. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation.
Maybe his phone isn't working, or he lost it. Maybe his battery is dead. Maybe he's in the shower. Maybe the zombie apocalypse popped off and he left his phone trying to escape from the undead.
6. Is he mad at me?
He hates me. I'm sure of it. That joke I made about his job was too much and now he thinks I'm a total jerk. Why does no one understand my sense of humor?
7. I completely misread my signs.
He never liked me. He just wanted to be my friend and now he thinks I'm being weird by texting him all the time. I am a complete failure at this dating thing.
8. F*ck him.
