Chris Brown’s crazy gun case has come to naught, though not for lack of trying. In August, a woman named Baylee Curran ran out of Chris Brown’s home in Los Angeles and called the cops, saying he’d pulled a gun on her at a party. The story got big immediately, because when police arrived, Brown refused to let them enter without a warrant, then posted a bunch of rants to social media. They eventually got one, and he was arrested, then released on bail.
Meanwhile, details came out about Curran, including the fact that she was a former beauty queen with a rap sheet for stealing. She also went and spoke with the media, which many of Brown’s friends criticized.
After all that, the case has been thrown out. During his standoff with police, Brown threw a duffel bag out of his window, which supposedly had two guns in it. But TMZ is reporting that they’re having trouble pinning those guns on Brown, or finding any other evidence that Curran’s version of events are accurate. The judge on the case even gave prosecutors an extra two weeks to gather more evidence, but they couldn’t. Brown believes that the whole case has been orchestrated by officials who have wanted to take him down since his abuse case involving Rihanna, but the past has no weight on this situation. Brown is cleared, unless they decide to take Curran’s case to L.A. City Attorney for misdemeanor assault prosecution. It doesn’t look good for Curran, either way.
