In yet another installment of #masculinitysofragile, 17-year-old Gisela Villa - an aspiring makeup artist - asked her dad to act as her guinea pig and he obliged. Because obvi, he's a cool dad. Most of the internet rejoiced, but when homophobic men on the internet got a hold of it, their masculinity shriveled inside.
Gisela's super cool dad has always been supportive. “At first, he thought I was doing it just to do it, but as I started growing, he started supporting me a lot,” she told mitú. “My dad is actually the one who takes me makeup shopping. He tells me ‘Oh that looks really nice' or 'maybe not that color.'"
She says that she always wondered what her dad would look like with makeup because "he has a big mustache." So one day, out of pure boredom, she asked him to act as her client. And he said yes!
What resulted was this gloriousness.
So of course, she uploaded it to Twitter.
That's when both the greatest and the most ridiculous comments started pouring in- all at the same time.
Some of the less enthusiastic tweets went more like, "Your dad just lost his masculinity for this,” and “Makeup shouldn’t be for guys. What has this world come to?" according to Vibe.
But when you have a rad dad, none of that matters.
“There were a few kids running around my neighborhood, and he walked outside for 20 minutes, and he was just standing there and all these little kids would pass and say, ‘Oh my god, he’s wearing makeup!’" Gisela said. "They laughed and their reaction made my dad laugh. He wore it for at least 20 minutes, then was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to take this off.’ He had glitter everywhere.”
And the best dad award goes to...
