When it comes to food mashups, sushi and donuts are two of the most popular frankenfood ingredients. This is why we have sushi burritos and cronuts, after all. It was only a matter of time before the two would find each other to unite as one. Meet: sushi donuts.
According to Mashable, the sushi donut is essentially sushi shaped as a disc. Traditional sushi ingredients like rice, avocado and seaweed take the place of fried dough, icing and sprinkles. The trend has become so popular that even Whole Foods has created a sushi donut rendition of a brown rice roll filled with salmon and avocado. Unfortunately, this is not available for sale--yet.
Aside from being much healthier than a traditional donut, the sushi donut is perfect for anyone who has trouble eating with chopsticks.
Plus, it's really pretty to look at.
