Future won joint custody for his son with Ciara in May, which was a decision highly contested by Ciara and her lawyers. At the time, Ciara claimed that Future wasn’t really an active presence in their kid’s life.
Ciara has also launched a defamation suit against Future in February for claiming that she’s a bad mother to the tune of $15 million. In response, Future counter-sued. Obviously, this breakup has been the opposite of whatever conscious uncoupling is supposed to be.
Now, Future has asked the judge to dismiss the case against her. TMZ reports that having his kid in his custody gave him a change of heart, or at least made him want to calm things down a bit. Joint custody usually means having to communicate with your ex more than you’d like. For the sake of the kid, you probably don’t want to have lawsuits hanging over each other’s heads.
Though he generally takes his issues to social media, Future hasn’t really commented on the dismissed case, unless this counts:
Ciara, on the other hand, is not ready to make nice. Her lawsuit is still moving forward. Let’s hope for the sake of the kid things calm down in all quarters soon.
