Johnny Depp Now Claims Ex-Wife Amber Heard ‘Violently Punched’ Him

'Fantastic Beasts' star Johnny Depp made the latest allegations of domestic abuse as part of a libel suit against British tabloid The Sun.

Johnny Depp alleges in a new court filing that his ex-wife Amber Heard “violently” punched him the same night she claims he hit her, reports say.

The filing is the latest in a libel suit that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor is fighting against a tabloid magazine that claimed he physically assaulted Heard, according to documents obtained by People.

In April, British tabloid The Sun reported on Heard’s allegations against Depp, while criticizing author J.K. Rowling for supporting the casting of Depp in the latest Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film.

Depp retaliated by suing The Sun, as well as the author of the article, filing an injunction for the paper to refrain from publishing of spousal abuse, according to an earlier People report.

In the latest filings reported by People on Wednesday, Depp details the events that took place on the night of April 21, 2016, when they were celebrating Heard’s upcoming 30th birthday.

After he was late to the birthday dinner due to meetings with his managers, Heard was “cold” towards him, he claimed. After their guests left for the night, Heard, who Depp claims was intoxicated, allegedly “became aggressive and violent, punching him twice in the face,” People reported.

Depp further claimed that he responded by “grabbing [her] arms” and asing her to stop, but he pushed her to the bed and told her he would leave.

Heard’s accounts from the night differ significantly, with the Justice League actress claiming Depp “grabbed [her] by the hair” and “violently shoved” her to the floor.

An attorney for Heard denied the allegations, according to People.

“One needs only read the recent Rolling Stone article about Mr. Depp to understand his state of mind,” Heard’s attorney told People. “Mr. Depp is currently being sued in multiple venues, including for assaulting a location manager on the set of City of Lies. On many occasions, eyewitnesses observed the extent of the abuse Mr. Depp inflicted on Ms. Heard.”

A scathing Rolling Stone report last month detailed the wave of crisis Depp has been hit with in recent times — from financial woes, to suing the management group run by his longtime business manager — who then counter-sued him), allegations from Heard, as well as complaints that he was forgetting his lines on set.

Earlier this month, a crew member working on Depp’s City of Lies filed a lawsuit against the actor for punching him.

Photos of Heard’s bruises went viral afterPeople magazine shared them on their cover in June 2016.

Heard filed for divorce in May 2016, according to People, a few days before filing a restraining order against the actor, who she claims had also hit her with an iPhone.
