Kesha wants to show you her true colors. Days after sharing photos of herself in the recording studio, the singer releases a new, defiant single with producer Zedd.

The song "True Colors" is a strong proclamation of Kesha's independence. "I'm not afraid. All my life, one page at a time. I'll show you my, my true colors," she sings. "I won't apologize for the fire in my eyes. Let me show you my, my true colors." One of the most poignant lyrics says, "I've escaped my capture, and I have no master."

The song's theme is fitting, given that it's the first track Kesha's released since her court battle with longtime collaborator and mentor Dr. Luke. Kesha alleged that Luke sexually assaulted her and she asked the court to release her from her recording contract with him. This was denied.

According to Zedd, "True Colors" is being released with the permission of Sony and Dr. Luke's Kemosabe imprint.

What do you think of Kesha's "True Colors"?
