So you've probably already heard that Kanye West signed his wife's little sister's on-again/off-again boyfriend Tyga to his label G.O.O.D. Music, right? Despite the family connections, Kanye's camp insisted that it wasn't a favor and that he truly believes in Tyga's art.
But as Tyga fans (all, what, 8 of you?) probably already know, before joining #TeamKanye, Tyga had been signed to Lil Wayne's label Young Money for a while. However, Young Money is an imprint of Cash Money records (which is owned by Birdman), and Tyga was able to sign with Kanye because Birdman released him from his contract with Young Money. Word has it that Lil Wayne is pretty heated about the whole thing.
According to TMZ, Wayne is pissed that Birdman released one of his artists without even talking to him about it first, much less asking for his permission. Wayne is the one who first signed Tyga, and he feels like his approval should have been required to release Tyga from his contract. According to TMZ's sources, Wayne would have said no.
Who knew this many people were interested in building Tyga's career?
