One Tupac super fan just paid over a quarter-million dollars for the rapper's car.
Tupac first purchased the Hummer H1 just 3 months before he was killed, personally customizing the vehicle with a 360-degree spotlight, diamond-plate bumpers, and an external PA system with three sirens, among other upgrades, CNN reports.
The car went through many owners after Tupac's death—including his mother, Afeni Shakur Davis—before being auctioned off by PR Auction today for $337,114. The vehicle's new owner is a Tupac fan and collector from the Midwest who wishes to remain anonymous.
"It's an incredible piece of hip-hop history that evokes the invincible spirit of one of rap's true lyrical giants," Robert Livingston, executive vice president of RR Auction, told CNN. "We are thrilled at the price achieved and with the continued success of our specialty themed auctions."
Tupac was shot multiple times on Sept. 7, 1996 after leaving a boxing match in Las Vegas; he died 6 days later from his wounds at the age of 25. His killer has never been found.
