The T.I. show that caused one death, three injuries, and some New York hip-hop shows to be cancelled (out of fear) had absolutely nothing to do with the hip-hop star. The shooting took place moments before the rapper was due to be on stage, and it was all perpetrated by fellow rapper and acquaintance, Troy Ave.
But, TMZ caught up with him recently for comment anyway, and he finally added his two cents... kinda.
“I'm not going to get into no discussion about any details of any criminal case for anybody, that’s what lawyers are for,” T.I. said. "I got a lot of love for Troy. I think that he has enormous potential and I know he has his own relationship with God, and all he gotta do is keep God first and he can pull through it."
“Sometimes there's things that involve situations that go beyond what the eyes can see. So for things like that, you’ve gotta step out on faith. And him being able to do that will make the difference... [I just send him] all my love, respect, and support."
Troy Ave, who was caught on tape shooting at the show, has since been charged with attempted second degree murder, and four other counts of felony gun charges. Although T.I. took a financial hit due to Troy Ave's actions, the only time he's spoken out on the tragedy up until now was to send out condolences to the victims, their families, and friends.
Can't blame him for staying out of the controversy on this one. He definitely has an inkling of what it's like to be in his shoes...
